Use these strategies to improve your commutations with your spa staff and see immediate results.
1. Insert a personalized note into each pay cheque. This is a great way to add a little memo about something they did during the week and to show your appreciation for their hard work and loyalty.
2. Have a dry erase board located in strategic areas. Great for easy and effective communications. Also, a great place to post short ‘kudos’ about spa staff.
3. A reading library. This is a terrific way to encourage continued learning and inspiration. Have a checklist for your staff to check off what they’ve read. Make it mandatory for them to take out at least one book per month.
4. Have incentives for your staff to read memos. Get creative!
5. Always end your staff meetings on a positive note. Everyone will go away and feel good about themselves and performance will soar.
6. Cubbyhole mailboxes like in school. Good way to make sure everyone receives the memos and it’s a great way to hold them accountable.
7. Hold regular meetings, encourage your staff to participate by having an open forum section to your meetings and giving them time to discuss anything that may be of concern to them.
8. Make your staff meetings quick and to the point. Hold manager meetings weekly and have your managers send in one thing to add to the agenda. This gets them involved, holds them accountable and requires them to come prepared for the meeting. Hold facial and massage staff meetings every couple of weeks to every month. Have other ways to communicate daily with them.
